Mai’s Amanar looks scary af. It’s only the first year of the quad, not even the Americans are trowing Amanars so soon. I hope they pace her well because she did the same thing in 2013 and was injured most of the quad and went to Rio with downgraded routines. Like if the end game in Tokyo why do this kind of thing now?!

I wouldn’t necessarily call it scary af. The landing was pretty rough, but this is first amanar we’ve seen from her (right?), I assume she can improve, and maybe has even done better in training. On one hand I agree, I want her to play safe, with Tokyo being the end goal and all, but on the other hand, I see why she’s pushing. Worlds this year is a great opportunity for her, so obviously, she and her coaches would like to take advantage of that.
