“Madison Kocian said Brielle might be taking a 5th year on and insta post and I started tearing up I love Brielle so much and I was so sad that she was a senior but I’ll be so happy to have her one more year!!!!!”

“Do you ever just learn something about gymnastics that makes you feel like a complete fake fan? Because I just learned Mattie Larson competed for UCLA… I thought she quit gymnastics. I like to call myself a fan of Mattie and UCLA but now I’m not to sure my integrity”

“So many UCLA-commits have deferred, so they can try out for the olympics. I‘d love to see Gracie Kramer get a scholarship for her senior year! (I think the only other woman in the senior class without a scholarship is Mercedes, so if there are enough scholarships available, she could also get one?)”

“I think it’s a bit sad that athletes like Gracie, Fish, Stella, Sekai, etc. kinda go overlooked next to their more famous teammates at UCLA when they would probably be standouts at many other programs.”

Chris Waller Named UCLA Gymnastics Head Coach – UCLA:

“It was my great honor to have worked alongside Miss Val for 17 years, and to take the helm of this storied program is a dream come true,” Waller said. “The lessons that she has taught our student-athletes over her tenure I have also learned. I am incredibly fortunate to have my first team as head coach be one that is filled with unquestionable leadership and talent. I have been a part of this Bruin Family since 1987 as a freshman on the NCAA Championship team and have been on this campus for the better part of 30 years. My blood runs Bruin blue, and I cannot wait to continue this journey.”

“I believe Chris embodies exactly what it means to be a Bruin: family, integrity, developing internal motivation, teaching and coaching the entire person, not just as an athlete,” said Bhardwaj. “He is a true leader in the most positive and motivating manner. Chris truly cares about the path and journey in life while focusing on enjoying and learning from the experience. I cannot think of anyone better suited than Chris Waller for UCLA’s women’s gymnastics head coaching position.”

“Having known Chris since he was an 18-year-old student-athlete here, it has been so exciting to see him grow into the man and the phenomenal coach that he is today,” said Kondos Field. “Chris was born to coach, and I can honestly say that so much of our program’s success since he’s been on this staff has been due to his contributions. He is a true student of the sport of gymnastics and has embraced the psychological side of coaching as much as he has the technical side. I am confident that Chris will sustain the culture and excellence of the program, and I am excited to see the next chapter of UCLA Gymnastics under his guidance.”

“UCLA def has the strongest leo game in NCAA”

“I’m absolutely GUTTED for UCLA – I really, really wanted one last championship for Miss Val. And just to make it worse, if anyone else was going to win, I wanted it to be anyone other than Oklahoma. UGH.”

“Just think of all the UCLA seniors we are gonna lose next year… Kyla, Madison, Gracie, Anna, Grace, Felicia, Mercedes… that’s a good chunk of the line ups plus the seniors from this year gone. With ms Val leaving and the main lineup gone I’m curious to what UCLA is going to become… but then again I have to remind myself this happens all the time and the lower classmen always become the lineup when they become upper classmen and they have great lower classmen so I need to chill😂”

“I find it kind of funny that UCLA’s colors are blue and gold, but we’ve never seen even a hint of gold on their leos, though we have seen black, silver, grey, and even pink.”

“UCLA is killing it with their NCAA Championship leos”
